The Role

NGT is growing its field operations and we need a Field Technician who can execute. This is a hands-on role centered on low-voltage cabling, AV installations, and workplace technology deployments in commercial environments. You will work across a variety of job types including conference rooms, digital signage, restaurant and retail technology, and structured cabling. You represent NGT directly in front of clients on every site.

You report to the Field Supervisor/Lead. The expectation is that you show up ready to work, follow the plan, flag problems early, and get the job done right the first time. We are looking for someone with real field experience who can contribute from day one. That said, the right candidate who is a little earlier in their career and has a strong foundation will absolutely be considered.

What You'll Do

Rough-in and terminate low-voltage cabling in commercial environments, including conduit, cable tray, and structured cabling systems.
Install, configure, and commission AV equipment including displays, mounts, projectors, projection screens, speakers, amplifiers, microphones, and control systems.
Build and install AV/IT racks and equipment enclosures to spec.
Install and support IT and network equipment including routers, wireless access points, switches, and endpoints as required by project scope.
Troubleshoot AV and low-voltage systems on-site. Keep detailed, accurate notes on issues, steps taken, and resolution.
Maintain timely and accurate job records and ticket updates in ConnectWise.
Coordinate with the Field Supervisor/Lead on scheduling, materials, and site logistics. Communicate proactively when conditions change.
Represent NGT professionally on every job site. Your conduct, communication, and quality of work reflect directly on the company.
Protect the confidentiality of client information and NGT operational data at all times.

What We're Looking For

2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in low-voltage cabling, AV installations, or both. You know how to work a commercial job site and you have done this before.
AV field experience is a strong plus: familiarity with display technology, mount systems, audio systems, and AV control platforms.
Ability to read and follow AV system drawings, cable schematics, and installation plans.
Strong troubleshooting mindset. You identify the problem, work through it methodically, and document it.
Organized, reliable, and accountable. You show up prepared, communicate clearly, and see the job through.
Professional with customers and teammates. You know how to carry yourself on a job site.
ConnectWise experience preferred. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency a plus.
Must have your own hand tools and basic field toolkit. Job-specific tools and equipment are provided by NGT.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Field Technicians operate NGT company vehicles.
Flexibility to work outside standard business hours. Weekend and overnight work is required at times. Overnight installs are rare but do occur and are part of this role.
This role requires approximately 50% travel. While we do not travel extensively, local and national job sites are a regular part of the work. Travel supports multi-site rollouts, national accounts, and new store opening programs.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, lift, and work in active installation environments including construction sites, commercial spaces, and customer facilities. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work at heights using ladders and lifts. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary based on project schedules and customer needs. Additional hours may be required when project timelines need to be met. Weekend and overnight availability is expected on an as-needed basis. Overnight installs are not common but do occur and are a standard part of field operations. Travel to job sites locally and nationally is a regular part of this role.
