Position Overview
The Rec is hiring various part-time and full-time positions for Member Services, the Nutrition Bar, Sports & Rec, and Aquatics. These customer-facing roles support programs, operations, and our integrated health model at the Rec.
Strong performers may have the opportunity to grow into expanded responsibilities and future supervisor roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a warm, professional welcome; answer questions and direct members/guests appropriately.
- Support daily operations: check-ins, scheduling/coordination, records, and basic transactions as applicable to the assigned area.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Rec services, programs, and staff; communicate clearly with the team.
- Help ensure a clean, safe environment through routine cleaning, stocking, and basic equipment/area upkeep.
- Assist with member engagement, educational activities, and events; participate in staff training as assigned.
- Follow established policies and procedures; cross-train and support other departments as needed (some travel may be required).
Role-Specific Duties (as assigned)
- Member Services: Support memberships (sales/renewals/records), check-ins, rentals/retail, and phone routing.
- Nutrition Bar: Assist customers; provide basic nutrition information; prepare smoothies, snacks, and workout supplements safely and accurately.
- Sports & Rec: Help run youth/adult sports, camps, and events; assist with activity setup/take down, supervision support, and participant service.
- Aquatics: Help maintain a safe, healthy aquatics area and assist with aquatic activities, aqua fit classes, and swim lessons for members and guests.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in varied conditions; stand/walk frequently; and lift 50 lbs. unassisted repeatedly.
Qualifications (Required)
- First Aid & CPR with AED (American Red Cross; in-house certification available).
- Strong customer service mindset; energetic and motivated to help others.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office or similar).
- Demonstrate energy and passion for helping others achieve their personal goals.
- Strong customer service skills where servicing the “client” is top priority.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office or related products.
Classification: Part-time; Full-time
Pay: Starting at $15/hour.
