Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Manager to lead our automotive service department with enthusiasm and expertise. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer satisfaction, and drive service excellence across all automotive repair and maintenance activities. Your leadership will inspire your team of technicians and service advisors to deliver top-quality work while maintaining a profitable and efficient service environment. If you thrive in a fast-paced setting, possess a passion for automotive technology, and excel at motivating others, this is the opportunity for you to make a significant impact.

Duties

Manage the daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource allocation to maximize productivity.
Lead, motivate, and develop a team of service technicians and support staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.
Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs.
Ensure all services are performed accurately and efficiently while adhering to safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Drive customer satisfaction by providing transparent communication, accurate auto estimating, effective service writing, and resolving any concerns promptly.
Promote upselling of additional services or repairs that benefit the customer while increasing departmental revenue.
Maintain comprehensive records of all transactions including cash handling and auto estimating documentation.
Monitor inventory levels for parts and supplies essential for automotive repair tasks.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to automotive service operations.

Skills

Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management.
Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including transmissions, oil changes, brake systems, alignments, suspension components, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repair.
Experience working with service technicians on complex automotive repairs such as automotive diagnostics and mechanical troubleshooting.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
Proficiency in auto estimating software and service writing procedures to accurately document repairs and generate invoices.
Strong sales acumen with the ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining customer trust.
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
Leadership qualities that foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the department.
Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in auto sales is highly desirable for success in this role.
