Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking an Administrator for our Team. Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the facility; supervision and development of all associates; representing the community and the organization; and creating a supportive and healthy environment for residents and staff. The Administrator is responsible for ensuring operation of a program that is consistent with the philosophy of the organization and conducive to the care of the residents. Will complete any courses and continuing education as required by the New York State Department of Health. Position reports to the Governing Authority.

Duties

Management of Operations

· Oversees, directs and monitors daily operations in accordance with the established policies, goals and objectives and regulations of the NYS Department of Health.

· Guides and supports the members of the Management Team in the development, provision and coordination of services.

· Monitors and ensures that operational practices are consistent with policies and objectives and insures consistent and equitable execution.

· Routinely monitors key indicators of the daily operations such as resident and staff satisfaction, employee turnover, resident occupancy and financial performance.

· Appraises and evaluates overall operations regularly and communicates with the Governing Authority.

· Works with the Governing Authority to develop of short and long-range plans for operations.

· Participates in pre-occupancy evaluations of all potential residents to identify appropriate levels of care and the ability of programs to meet residents' needs.

· Ensures maintenance of the physical plant is in optimum condition, including furnishings, equipment and grounds.

· Responsible for ensuring that a safe and sanitary environment is provided for staff and consumers; facilitates efforts to reduce safety hazards, accidents, and injuries.

Compliance

· Attains and/or maintains ongoing compliance with appropriate local, state, federal, regulatory, and/or accrediting body standards.

· Promotes cooperation with all local, regional and state agencies.

· Ensures that the residence is prepared for inspection by regulatory agencies through regular auditing and updating of program policies and procedures, resident records documentation, environmental standards, etc.

· Facilitates on-site inspections and respond to requests and correspondence by regulatory agencies.

· Develops Plans of Correction to Department of Health Statements of Deficiencies and ensure on-going compliance with Plans of Correction.

Community Relations

· Presents information about the facility to the general community, community partners and other organizations.

· Makes an active contribution toward improving community relations, increasing positive public regard and overall awareness of the Facility.

Fiscal Management

· Prepares and administers the operational budget and advises the Governing Authority regarding operational and capital budget needs.

· Monitors budgets and collaborates with department directors on a regular basis to ensure established budgets are maintained.

· Monitors and maintains cost control.

· Strives to attain and/or maintain an occupancy of 90% or greater.

Personnel

· Leads, supervises and develops a management team that supports one another in working toward the programs, policies and goals.

· Evaluates and documents the job performance of department directors as needed at least annually.

· Assures that department directors monitor job performance of their subordinates according to policy and in a fair and consistent fashion.

· Addresses and documents job performance issues as needed. Takes action as prescribed by policy.

· Identifies internal candidates with promotional potential and provides developmental opportunities where possible.

· Provides job performance recognition.

· Ensures that associates conduct themselves in accordance with the expectations stated by policy.

Leadership and Teambuilding

· Serves as an effective leader and role-model in all situations.

· Fosters a culture of positivity, cooperation and respect.

· Promotes and fosters effective communication throughout the organization.

· Facilitates regularly scheduled Management Team meetings.

· Facilitates teamwork among department directors and staff.

· Actively promotes staff participation and involvement in the day-to-day operations and decision-making.

· Promotes team building through participation and/or leadership at regular staff meetings.

· Promotes and implements constructive problem solving.

Quality Assurance

· Assures the provision of high quality services.

· Implements and oversees quality assurance and improvement measures.

· Strives to attain excellence in consumer satisfaction through ongoing solicitation and measurement of consumer feedback, implementation of consumer suggestions, and interactive problem solving with residents.

· Participates in and/or facilitate Resident Council meetings as requested by the governing bodies of those councils.

· Addresses and responds to all concerns, complaints, and/or suggestions submitted by Resident Council.

· Ensures ongoing quality assurance activities are conducted and evaluated.

· Facilitates a Quality Assurance meeting at least every 6 months.

Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality.

Continues to expand his/her knowledge through attending educational seminars and receiving the minimum CEUs required by New York State regulations each year.

Supports and participates in the resident-centered activities program.

Any additional duties necessary to fulfill the scope of the position.

Must be accessible via telephone 24 hours a day, seven days a week unless designee is in place.

Qualifications

· Associates or baccalaureate degree required with 3 years of work experience in related field.

· Experience in administration and working with an elderly population required.

· Experience in sales and marketing and knowledge of the community service network is preferred.

· Must have the ability to communicate the program philosophy and goals.

· Excellent written communication skills required. Public speaking skills preferred.

· Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relationship skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities.

· Considerable initiative, judgment, and leadership skills are also required.

· Must possess strong organizational skills. Must be able to conceptualize, organize, and implement a plan for the organization, anticipate problems, predict outcomes, and plan for the future.

· Must have demonstrated ability to hire, direct, and manage personnel.

· 2-step PPD for tuberculosis according to CDC guidelines and state regulations is required.

· Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

· Must be available to travel for business purposes when necessary.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
