Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk to oversee and coordinate all payroll functions within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, and managing payroll-related data across multiple systems. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll management, accounting principles, and HRIS systems to support our company's financial and human resources operations.

Duties

Manage end-to-end payroll processing using platforms such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, and Ceridian.
Ensure accuracy in payroll calculations including taxes, benefits, deductions, and garnishments.
Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare journal entries for financial reporting.
Maintain and update employee records related to compensation, benefits administration, and tax information.
Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Perform data entry related to payroll transactions with precision using accounting software and other relevant tools.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable related to payroll expenses.
Assist in audits related to payroll and benefits administration.
Support non-profit accounting processes if applicable, including grant allocations and governmental reporting requirements.
Conduct analysis of payroll data for reporting purposes and identify discrepancies or issues requiring resolution.
Ensure proper account reconciliation involving debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and double entry bookkeeping practices.

Qualifications

Proven experience in payroll management within a corporate or non-profit environment.
Proficiency with payroll software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian is preferred.
Some understanding of accounting principles including general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial concepts.
Experience with various accounting software including QuickBooks is preferred.
Knowledge of benefits administration processes and tax regulations related to payroll processing.
Familiarity with HRIS systems and data entry accuracy is required.
Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex payroll data accurately.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is a plus.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our organization’s financial integrity while supporting our human resources functions through expert payroll management.

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
