Full Job Description

AYC Media is a web design, development and digital marketing agency currently seeking a Frontend Developer to join its growing team. The ideal candidate must possess strong front-end development skills and be capable of transforming cutting edge designs into dynamic responsive websites, preparing them for our proprietary CMS. The candidate must have strong communication and presentation skills to work within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Position Overview & Requirements

Work with Frontend lead and team to produce dynamic websites using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and NodeJS based command-line tools. Collaborate with creative team of designers and project managers to create visually appealing, user-focused and friendly experiences that fit client requirements while guiding key decision on functionality. Coordinate with Programming lead and their team to prepare websites for back-end development, which will integrate website functionality into AYC’s proprietary CMS so ware. Work closely with company leadership to assist in the brainstorming, planning and implementation of internal products and services. Assist sales team by communicating directly with clients when needed for technical support. Perform routine site updates, assist team members when needed and help foster educational environment and collaborative workflow.

Possess These Qualities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills while presenting ideas, concepts and solution to groups

Problem solver with willingness to propose new methods, complete given task with thorough explanation and adapt quickly to changing requirements
Eagerness to stay well informed of industry standards, learn new skills as needed and teach others when needed
Desire to continually develop and mature within company for professional growth
Highly organized with excellent time management and project balance ability
Minimum of 2-3 years experience in agency environment and ability to furnish references

Possess These Skills And Capabilities

5+ years in hand-coded HTML5, CSS3
3+ years in hand-coded Javascript including jQuery library
Expertise in responsively coded websites and/or web applications and setting up grid systems without using existing frameworks or libraries such as Bootstrap or Foundation
Converting Photoshop (PSD) designed files into high quality, cross-browser/mobile compatible, valid HTML structure, CSS styled markup.
Growing knowledge and experience in mobile, tablet and device-specific user interface development and standards for code structure for optimal loading methods

Additional Preferred Skills & Experience

Experience with PHP environment and content management systems for example Wordpress or Drupal. Familiarity with custom built systems is a major plus.
Practice and knowledge of implementing solution with AJAX utilizing JSON/XML
Understanding of SEO concepts, teaching others of their importance and experience their implementation, especially utilizing Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
Knowledge and Experience in Responsive Design practices and best practices for adopting of mobile-first standards Active usage or growing desire to become familiar with:
CSS Preprocessors (Preferably SASS)
Command-line tools such as NodeJS, Task Managers and Packages (Preferably NodeJS, Grunt, NPM)
