Full Job Description

Position:

MUST HAVE 3+ YEARS OF FILEMAKER EXPERIENCE

As a FileMaker Developer within our development team, you will hold a pivotal role in driving our organization's technological advancement and expansion. Your primary focus will be aiding in the scaling and growth of our IT Systems infrastructure, ensuring its seamless functionality and security. Your technical acumen will be instrumental in propelling our organization towards strategic success.

This is a full-time position in an IT department with an expectation of continued company growth over the next 12-18 months, supporting an expected increase in organizational headcount of 2x-3x in that same period.

Core Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain custom FileMaker applications for internal use.
Gather and analyze user requirements to translate business needs into functional database solutions.
Create and optimize layouts, scripts, calculations, and relationships within FileMaker databases.
Troubleshoot and resolve database, system performance, and user interface issues.
Maintain clear technical documentation for releases, applications, and processes.
Collaborate with end users, project managers, and IT team members to ensure timely delivery of solutions.
Stay current with FileMaker platform updates and new technologies from Claris.

Overview

Technology Implementation: Evaluate, recommend, and implement technology solutions that align with the organization's growth trajectory and scalability objectives. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, assessing their suitability and potential impact on advancing organizational goals.

User Support and Training: Develop and implement robust user support strategies to address end-user needs promptly, fostering seamless scalability and adoption of technology. Coordinate IT training programs to enhance user proficiency and ensure optimal utilization of technological resources.

Other Job Duties: Undertake any additional responsibilities as required or assigned by direct supervisor or upper management.

Required Qualifications:

3+ years of experience developing FileMaker solutions (FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Server, FileMaker Go, and/or FileMaker Cloud).
Strong understanding of relational database design and normalization.
Experience with FileMaker scripting, custom functions, and calculations.
Familiarity with FileMaker layouts, themes, and user interface design principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and documentation abilities.
Ability to work cohesively within a development team.

Preferred Qualifications:

FileMaker Certified Developer (Claris Certification).
Experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP).
Experience integrating FileMaker with external data sources (REST APIs, SQL, XML, JSON).
Knowledge of server administration and cloud deployment (AWS, Azure, or FileMaker Cloud).
Experience in business process automation or workflow optimization.
