Full Job Description

Title: Accounting Assistant

Department: Finance

Reports to: Accounting Manager

FLSA: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week. On-site with the ability to travel to satellite clinics as required.

General Purpose of Job/Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Assistant to support our Finance team. This role is responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely processing of transactions. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment with multiple entities and locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice entry, payment processing, and follow-up.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in compliance with company policies.
Assist with payroll-related reporting and audits as needed.
Prepare and update financial spreadsheets, reports, and summaries.
Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
Support audits and provide documentation as requested.
Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives within the Finance department.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience required.
Experience in healthcare or multi-entity environments preferred.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general accounting software (experience with ADP or similar systems a plus).
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA and company policies.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
