What we're looking for
We are seeking a detail-oriented CMM Operator to support our aerospace manufacturing operations in Pensacola, Florida. This position is responsible for performing precision dimensional inspections of aerospace components, tooling, fabricated parts, and assemblies using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other precision inspection equipment.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in dimensional inspection, GD&T interpretation, quality systems, and aerospace manufacturing environments.
- Minimum 2 years of CMM operation, dimensional inspection, or quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and working with CMM software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Proficiency using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and gauges.
- Experience performing first article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to accurately document inspection findings and generate quality reports.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
- Experience with AS9100 quality management systems.
- Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements.
- Experience using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent CMM programming software.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Experience supporting root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
