Full Job Description

[No-call, no after hours, no weekends]

Introduction

North Florida Surgery Center is a multi-specialty ambulatory surgical center established in 1993. The facility encompasses 8 registered operating rooms and 2 procedure rooms.

Summary

The OR Circulator (RN) is primarily responsible for providing assistance in the operating room (OR).

Essential Functions

The essential functions of the position include:

1. Providing appropriate care in the Operating Room including:

Assisting the team in maintaining and creating a comfortable, safe environment
Monitors patient vitals whether under local, MAC, general or block anesthesia
Acts as an advocate for the patient before, during and after surgery
Prepares the surgical tools and materials that the surgical team will need during the operation
Records every aspect of an operation, including the names and titles of those performing the surgery as well as times, tools used
Assists surgeons during the surgery if needed
Escorts patients to the recovery room post-operation
Cleans the operating room post-operation
Accounts for all tools used during the procedure and engages in counts with the surgical tech

2. Ability to promote a positive, engaged work environment

3. Ensures adherence to company policy and procedures

4. Ensures equipment, supplies and other procurement needs are secured for the cases scheduled

5. Regularly communicates with surgeons to ensure surgical needs are met

Preferred Skills

The ideal candidate should encompass dependability, trustworthy, accountability, good communication skills, organization in the ability to start and complete a task, proactive in identifying potential problems or trends. Must be able to work well with others, promote customer service, encourage problem-solving and communicate well with their team to understand personal and workplace challenges.

Availability Monday -Thursday, no weekends, no call

Requirements

Must pass a level II AHCA Background screening in conjunction with Chapter 435 (section 408.809(4)); https://info.flclearinghouse.com/
Must pass drug screening;
Must have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing;
Must have an active FL state license as a Registered Nurse to practice;
Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills;
Must be good with analytical and problem-solving skills;
Must have the ability to operate and understand a variety of specialty equipment;
Must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods (up to 60 minutes) and operate heavy machinery without assistance;
Must adhere to a drug free workplace;
