Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Mortgage Loan Processor and become a vital part of the home financing journey! In this energetic role, you will coordinate and manage the processing of mortgage loan applications, ensuring all documentation and compliance requirements are meticulously met. Your expertise will help streamline the loan approval process, facilitate clear communication between clients and lenders, and uphold the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency. Role:

To assist members with loan applications, credit reports, title searches, appraisals and income documents. Updates loan information throughout the process accordingly.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

E 35% Reviews residential loan application files to verify that application data is complete and meets credit union standards, including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment; recommends that loans not meeting standards be denied. Responsible for selling and cross-selling Credit Union services to current and potential members. Credit Union services are to be promoted using the "member benefit-based approach.

N 25% Calls specified companies to obtain property abstract, assures paid property tax receipts are maintained in member loan files, survey, and appraisal; informs supervisor of discrepancies in title or survey.

N 25% Types loan application forms; submits mortgage loan application files for underwriting approval. Reports to Supervisor any issue detected with any Lender or Member at the first indication that a problem exists.

N 5% Calls or writes employer to verify accuracy of information and employment.

N 5% Prepare a Real Estate Pipeline report covering closed loans and pending applications and/or loans and distribute on a weekly basis.

N 5% Performs other related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

1. Produce loan documents, reports, and new accounts in a timely fashion, with zero unresolved errors.

2. Accurately prepare file for underwriting within 3 days of receipt.

3. Accurately close, organize and complete member loan files within the appropriate time frame.

4. Provide friendly, accurate, professional service to members and associates by responding to messages and correspondence within 1 business day.

5. Meet or exceed the minimum established individual goals each month.

6. Develop and maintain knowledge of all mortgage products and rates within the credit union and from the mortgage industry.

7. Comply with all regulatory requirements including HFCU Policy and Procedures

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience - Six months to two years of similar or related experience.

- Experience with Calyx Point mortgage software and LP/DU procedures.

- Knowledge of real estate lending products, secondary market guidelines and investor loan programs.

- Knowledge of underwriting criteria for both conventional and government offerings (FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA).

Education A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.

Other Skills Must have good communication skills. Ten key calculator and keyboard skills.

Physical Requirements Ability to sit/stand and utilize computer workstation, including phones, keyboard and visual display monitor for extended periods of time and lifting loan files.

Work Environment NMLS license required
