POSITION SUMMARY
The Lending Specialist position is to provide quality member service and actively promote lending products by telephone and email while assisting members with loan needs. Must possess a thorough knowledge of all lending policies, procedures, and services. Exceptional listening, written, and verbal communication skills are needed to determine member needs and appropriate action.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma and two years customer service experience or comparable experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Responsible for being self-motivated to generate a high volume of loans and lending products. Must possess a comprehensive understanding of loan policies and procedures and a thorough knowledge of all Credit Union loan products and services. Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills are needed to determine needs and appropriate action. Should display proper phone and email etiquette and must be sales oriented. Must have knowledge of computer functions and ability to utilize Windows, Office 365 Suite, and other online platforms. Must be bondable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide exceptional member service by identifying member needs and recommending appropriate Credit Union lending products and services. Originate, process, close, and disburse consumer loans, credit cards, HELOCs, and mortgage loans while coordinating with members, dealers, branches, and other departments throughout the lending process.
Meet established lending and cross-selling goals, respond to loan-related inquiries, resolve account and lending issues, and maintain current knowledge of Credit Union products, procedures, membership requirements, and account services. Participate in off-site lending events as needed.
Maintain required State of Florida payment protection licensing and NMLS registration for mortgage origination. Follow all applicable lending, BSA/AML, OFAC, USA Patriot Act, CIP, and CDD policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
