The Furshire is hiring FOUR Full-Time Kennel Attendants to join our team in Peoria!
Our Kennel Attendants are an important part of keeping the animals in our care safe, happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We’re looking for dependable people who enjoy working as a team, aren’t afraid to get a little dirty, and want to learn more about professional animal care.
The Furshire is a busy dog and cat boarding and daycare facility that’s open 365 days a year. Our environment is fun and active, but we’re also big on safety, structure, consistency, and teamwork.
You don’t need to know everything on day one. We will train you.We have procedures in place to help our team know exactly what’s expected and how to safely care for the animals in our facility.
What You’ll Do
● Feed dogs and cats according to their individual feeding instructions
● Provide fresh water and comfortable, clean spaces
● Take dogs outside for potty breaks, rotations, and activities
● Assist with supervised playgroups
● Learn dog body language and safe handling techniques
● Get to know each pet’s personality and individual needs
● Monitor animals for changes in appetite, behavior, bathroom habits, mobility, or overall well-being
● Clean and sanitize kennels, rooms, crates, bowls, and animal-care areas
● Help with laundry, dishes, food preparation areas, and general facility upkeep
● Take photos and help make our guests’ stays fun and comfortable
● Communicate important information and concerns with managers and teammates
● Follow our established animal-care and safety procedures
And yes, there’s plenty of cleaning! Keeping our facility clean and sanitized is a huge part of keeping our animals healthy and safe.

At The Furshire, animal safety comes before speed or convenience.
We care for dogs of different breeds, sizes, personalities, energy levels, and behavioral needs. Our team follows established procedures for feeding, dog movement, playgroups, introductions, cleaning, and emergencies.
You will never be expected to guess.
If you’re unsure about something, we want you to stop and ask a manager. We believe clear expectations, good communication, and consistent procedures create a safer environment for our animals and our team.

Previous kennel, veterinary, daycare, boarding, grooming, or other professional animal-care experience is a plus, but it is not required.

Schedule
This is a full-time position averaging approximately 35–40+ hours per week.
Opening Shift: 4:00 AM–12:30 PM
Closing Shift: 12:15 PM–9:00 PM
The Furshire operates 365 days a year, so weekend and holiday availability is required.
If you’re interested in opening shifts, please make sure a 4:00 AM start time realistically works for you. Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential.
Pay & Growth
Kennel Attendants are hired at the current Arizona minimum wage.
There is opportunity to move up in pay based on relevant experience, completed training, demonstrated skills, reliability, safety awareness, and job performance.

● Must be at least 18 years old
