Full Job Description

Are you an organized, approachable professional who enjoys helping people and being part of a supportive team? We are looking for a Business Office Manager to join our Skilled Nursing Facility and play an important role in supporting our residents, families, and staff.

Our facility provides both short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, with a strong focus on creating a welcoming environment for the people we serve. In this role, you’ll be an important resource for residents and their families while helping ensure our business office runs smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. If you enjoy working with people, have a strong eye for detail, and take pride in keeping things organized and on track, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day functions of the facility’s business office.
Serve as a friendly and professional resource for residents and families regarding billing, account balances, and financial questions.
Manage accounts receivable, including billing, follow-up, and timely collection of outstanding balances.
Handle billing and collections for Medicaid/Public Aid, Medicare, managed care, private insurance, and private-pay accounts.
Assist residents and families with the Medicaid/Public Aid application and approval process.
Follow up on outstanding accounts and work to resolve billing, reimbursement, and payment issues.
Maintain accurate resident financial records and supporting documentation.
Manage Resident Trust Fund activities, including deposits, disbursements, and recordkeeping.
Perform general bookkeeping and business office duties.
Work closely with facility leadership and other departments to ensure accurate and timely business office processes.

Qualifications

Previous billing and accounts receivable experience within a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care (LTC) setting is strongly preferred.
Experience typically associated with a Business Office Manager (BOM), Assistant BOM, SNF/LTC Biller, Accounts Receivable, or similar role is highly desirable.
2–4 years of relevant business office, billing, or accounts receivable experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, managed care, private insurance, and private-pay billing and collections.
Experience with Medicaid eligibility and application processes preferred.
Experience with Resident Trust Funds is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
Friendly and professional communication skills with the ability to work comfortably with residents, families, staff, insurance providers, and outside agencies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and general office systems.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
