Sprinkler Repair Technician (NICET III) – Peoria, IL
Job Summary
Getz Fire Equipment is a leader in the life and safety industry, headquartered in Peoria, Illinois. We are seeking a self-motivated Sprinkler Repair Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will generate sprinkler repair quotes, complete small sprinkler repairs, and perform required inspections to help ensure customer systems remain safe and code-compliant.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide sprinkler repair quotes/estimates (including quoting sprinkler deficiencies).
· Complete small sprinkler repairs, including troubleshooting leaks, repairing damaged pipe, and replacing sprinkler heads/valves.
· Perform periodic inspections in accordance with NFPA 25 and company procedures.
· Support larger inspections and pump-related work as a second technician on pumps and large sprinkler inspections.
· Document work performed and communicate findings and recommendations to customers and internal teams.
Required Qualifications
· NICET Level III in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems (sprinklers) (required).
· 5 years of documented experience in the fire sprinkler industry.
· Working knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 25 standards.
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and climb ladders and/or operate high-lift equipment.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Basic computer skills (email, reports, spreadsheets).
· Must comply with the Drug & Alcohol Policy (safety-sensitive position; no marijuana use).
Preferred Qualifications
· Alarm/supervisory device experience, or pump-related exposure.
· Experience writing clear deficiency reports and customer-facing repair recommendations.
