Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all daily manufacturing operations at Grand Rock Company, ensuring that exhaust systems and components are produced to quality standards, on schedule, and within budget. This role leads and develops production and their teams, drives continuous improvement, and upholds the safe and efficient operation of the plant floor.

Duties

Plan, organize, and direct all production activities to meet output, quality, and cost targets.
Lead, coach, and develop production and front-line team members; conduct performance evaluations and support career growth.
Monitor and report on key production KPIs including throughput, scrap rates, downtime, and on-time delivery.
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve production issues and drive process improvements.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA standards; champion a safety-first culture on the floor.
Manage production scheduling in coordination with the sales and inventory teams to meet customer delivery requirements.
Oversee the proper use and maintenance of equipment, tooling, and belt sander machines and other production machinery.
Identify and implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and documentation.
Participate in budgeting, headcount planning, and capital expenditure recommendations.
Partner with HR on recruiting, onboarding, disciplinary matters, and workforce development.

Education / Experience:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
5+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in heavy-duty manufacturing, metal fabrication, or exhaust systems a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and hold teams accountable.
Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in production scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, and production documentation.
Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to resolving floor-level issues.

Work Conditions:

Manufacturing plant environment; exposure to noise, heat, metal dust, and industrial equipment.
Frequent standing and walking throughout the production floor.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
May require occasional overtime, weekends, or adjusted shift coverage based on production demands.

Contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug screen test, including marijuana testing.

Pay: $65,000.00 per year
