Full Job Description

The CNC Machinist/Operator at Dura Magnetics, Inc., a premier custom magnetics manufacturer, is responsible for the creation of quality precision parts through the operation of CNC machinery, reading and interpreting blueprints, working within tight tolerances, and completing jobs with precision, efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.

General Responsibilities:

Use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers, to ensure accuracy in the production process.
Set-up machining equipment by setting controls on assigned jobs.
Run various machine operations on a daily basis, which include CNC lathes and CNC mills.
Operate multiple machines at one time.
Read and interpret drawings/blueprints and process documents (job travelers, engineering routes, and work instructions).
Conduct in-process and final inspections using micrometers and other measurements.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine performance or product quality.
Monitor machine parameters and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
Complete precision jobs with efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Clean and de burr parts as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Position Requirements:

1-3 years of experience working on CNC lathes and CNC mills or equivalent education required.
Experience machining and measuring tight tolerances (i.e ±0.0005" or less) required
Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions; basic machinist math
Solid understanding of quality control test equipment
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information
Basic computer and Excel skills
Ability to multi-task

Physical Requirements (Must be able to complete with or without an accommodation):

Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
Ability to sit or stand for up to the duration of a shift
Ability to perform repetitive actions for extended periods of time
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus up to the duration of a shift
High level of manual dexterity to manipulate small parts for up to the duration of a shift

Environmental Requirements:

Position required to work in a production environment
Exposure to high noise
Protective eyewear is required at all times in the production environment
Position is exposed to machinery with moving parts
May be exposed to varying temperatures

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
