Join a Growing Concrete Crew
Rockhard Construction is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Concrete Wall Specialist / Finisher to join our expanding team.
This position is a good fit for someone who has experience with poured foundation walls and concrete finishing. You should be comfortable setting and stripping wall forms, helping with layouts and pours, finishing concrete, and working alongside the crew from setup through cleanup.
You do not need to come in as a foreman, but you should have enough experience to contribute immediately, follow plans, solve problems, and help keep projects moving.
We are looking to hire one or two full-time team members as soon as possible.
What You Will Be Doing
- Setting and stripping concrete wall forms
- Preparing jobsites for foundation and flatwork pours
- Laying out and building poured foundation walls
- Bracing, aligning, and checking wall forms
- Pouring and finishing concrete
- Reading plans, measurements, and layouts
- Loading and unloading forms, tools, and materials
- Operating hand tools and construction equipment safely
- Keeping jobsites clean and organized
- Working closely with the foreman and the rest of the crew
- Helping wherever needed to complete the job safely and correctly
Most of our foundation and wall projects are located around Minooka, Yorkville, Shorewood, Grundy County, Kendall County, and surrounding communities.
Most of our concrete flatwork is located throughout LaSalle County.
Because our projects are spread across the area, applicants should be comfortable traveling to different jobsites.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with at least three years of concrete or foundation construction experience.
Experience is important, but so is how you show up every day. We want someone who works hard, contributes to the crew, maintains a good attitude, and takes pride in quality work.
You should have:
- At least three years of concrete construction experience
- Experience with poured foundation walls
- Experience setting and stripping wall forms
- Concrete finishing experience
- The ability to read plans and layouts
- A valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- The ability to perform physical construction work throughout the day
- The ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Dependable attendance
- A team-first attitude
- A willingness to learn and improve

Pay
$27 to $35 per hour
Starting pay depends on your experience, skill level, and ability to contribute to the crew.
We are willing to pay well for someone with real foundation wall and concrete finishing experience. There is also room for future raises and advancement as you prove yourself and take on additional responsibility.
