Overview:

The position will assist in maintaining quality measures, standards, processes, and procedures relating to business needs.

Principal Accountabilities:

Promote a safe work environment by following and auditing company safety policies, GMPs, and Food Safety Management System (SQF) requirements.
Investigate customer complaints and product quality issues by analyzing data, documenting findings, supporting root cause analysis, and following up on corrective and preventive actions.
Troubleshoot material, process, and extrusion issues impacting product quality, and work with Production Supervisors to resolve core issues.
Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, evaluate manufacturing issues, and recommend alternative solutions and process improvements.
Participate in product Hold & Release decisions and determine the disposition of finished products and incoming raw materials based on quality standards and product specifications.
Maintain laboratory and operations testing equipment, laboratory supplies, equipment matrix, and ensure current specifications, setup standards, and documentation are maintained.
Support R&D projects, raw material qualifications, internal audits, operational inspections, and participate on cross-functional teams and committees as needed.
Monitor and report plant food safety to Quality Management and assist with customer complaint follow-up, including inspection of returned materials and sample verification.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and food safety regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect and interpret data.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation Information:

The hourly range for a Quality Technician is $21.00 to $24.00. The pay rate for a successful candidate will depend on the geographic location, this pay range is for a successful candidate in the Chicagoland area. The specific hiring rate within the posted range will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
