Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will operate, set up, and program CNC machines—including lathes and milling centers—to produce precision metal and plastic components. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical blueprint interpretation, CNC programming, and quality inspection to ensure parts meet strict specifications. The successful applicant will contribute to efficient production processes, uphold safety standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives within our manufacturing environment. #GRP2-$4000

Duties

Operate and set up CNC machining equipment such as CNC lathes and milling machines, primarily using Fanuc controls.
Develop and modify CNC programs utilizing G-code, M-code, CAM programming software, and CNC programming best practices.
Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to produce accurate parts.
Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools to verify part dimensions.
Conduct quality inspections during and after machining processes to ensure adherence to specifications; document inspection results accurately.
Maintain tooling, fixtures, and tooling setups; troubleshoot machining issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Support lean manufacturing principles by identifying process improvements and optimizing machining workflows.
Operate auxiliary equipment such as grinders, power tools, welders, and forklifts as needed for material handling and finishing tasks.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment in accordance with safety standards.
Assist in training new team members on machine operation, programming techniques, and safety procedures.

Skills

Proficiency in CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with CAM software is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of mechanical blueprint reading and interpretation of mechanical blueprints.
Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
Familiarity with SolidWorks or CAD software for part design review and modifications.
Ability to interpret GD&T specifications for precise measurement and quality control.
Mechanical aptitude with understanding of metal machining processes such as turning, milling, grinding, and plastics injection molding.
Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and dial indicators.
Knowledge of CNC control systems such as Fanuc or similar controls.
Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances.
Experience with CNC quality inspection techniques to verify finished parts meet specifications.
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly tools efficiently.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to promote continuous process improvement.
Valid forklift license or certification preferred for material handling tasks.
