Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Wellness Manager with a strong background in healthcare and team leadership to oversee the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive wellness programs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting health, well-being, and preventive care across diverse populations. This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a positive environment that encourages healthy lifestyles. The Wellness Manager will utilize their extensive healthcare experience to drive initiatives that improve patient outcomes and staff engagement, all while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Duties

Lead the planning and execution of wellness programs tailored to specific populations, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring chronic disease management.
Supervise healthcare teams, including nurses, health coaches, and support staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across departments.
Monitor patient care activities, including medical documentation, vital signs assessment, medication administration, and physical examinations.
Oversee compliance with HIPAA regulations, state healthcare laws, and long-term care standards to ensure patient privacy and safety.
Coordinate medical services such as IV infusion, catheterization, tube feeding, and infection control procedures within various care settings.
Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Cerner or Athenahealth for accurate documentation and data management.
Conduct staff training on topics such as basic life support (BLS), sterile techniques, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and emergency response protocols.
Manage care facility operations related to patient assessment, discharge planning, nutrition management, and behavioral health initiatives.
Facilitate case management activities including utilization review, discharge planning, and compliance with long-term care regulations.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing quality metrics related to patient care outcomes and staff performance.

Qualifications

Proven experience in healthcare management with a focus on wellness or rehabilitation programs.
Strong background in clinical areas such as critical care (ICU), emergency medicine, geriatrics (including dementia and memory care), pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), or hospital medicine.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth; experience working with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding is preferred.
Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising multidisciplinary teams within long-term care or assisted living environments.
Knowledge of state healthcare regulations governing long-term care facilities and acute care settings.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills for managerial coordination and patient-centered interactions.
Ability to perform medical assessments including vital signs measurement, specimen collection/processing, venipuncture, phlebotomy, suturing, and sterile techniques.
Certification in basic life support (BLS) or advanced life support as required by regulatory standards.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology knowledge, anatomy knowledge, CPT coding for procedures, and diagnostic evaluation processes.
