Job Summary

M1 Health is a rapidly growing preventive care and performance medicine practice seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist/Office Manager to lead our office and the implement and manage of our insurance billing processes.

Our practice is a fun dynamic business focused on prevention and performance.

As our practice continues to grow, we are expanding to a hybrid model of cash-pay and billing commercial insurance for basic primary care services. We are looking for an experienced medical biller who can establish efficient billing workflows, optimize reimbursement, ensure compliance, and help build a strong revenue cycle process from the ground up.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys creating systems, improving processes, and playing a key role in the growth of an innovative medical practice.

In addition to medical billing, this position will provide administrative support and assist with daily office operations as needed.

Responsibilities:

Medical Billing:

Lead the implementation and management of the practice's insurance billing processes
Submit accurate electronic claims for primary care services
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
Review documentation for billing accuracy and compliance
Apply and review appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes, as applicable
Monitor claim status and resolve claim rejections and denials
Prepare and submit appeals for denied claims
Post insurance payments, adjustments, and patient balances
Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims
Stay current on payer guidelines, coding updates, and billing regulations
Collaborate with providers to support accurate documentation and maximize reimbursement

Administrative Support

Answer phones and assist patients with professionalism and exceptional customer service
Schedule appointments and coordinate provider calendars
Support front desk operations, patient registration, and data entry
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance
Assist with general office administration as needed

QualificationsRequired

Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience in a physician office or outpatient practice
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance billing, claims processing, denial management, and revenue cycle operations
Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management software
Knowledge of insurance eligibility verification, payment posting, and accounts receivable
Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work independently and develop efficient billing processes
Strong communication and customer service skills
Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance

Preferred

Experience implementing insurance billing for a growing medical practice
Primary care billing experience
Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
