Somerton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center situated in Northeast Philadelphia is searching for an experienced Medical Records Clerk.

Job Responsibilities

Oversees the daily operations of the Medical Records Department
Provides ICD-9/10 and CPT codes for all diagnoses and procedures in the medical record.
Abstracting, analyzing, auditing, and coding of all medical records in a timely manner.
Oversees the release of medical record information, archiving/storage of medical records, and the transcription/dictation processing.
Collects and analyzes data for quality improvement.
Completes quarterly performance improvement reports in a timely manner.
Suggests changes to Medical Record policies and procedures.
Functions as a member on assigned committees.
Works closely with nursing, social work, and finance to ensure PPS compliance and unit profitability.
Looks to become highly involved in areas outside specific job function.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred.
Knowledge of office procedures, medical terminology, typing, filing, transcription, and computers is required.
