Food Safety / Quality Control Manager -Meat Manufacturing, USDA SQF Regulated, Food Plant

**Company Overview**

Join Ritter Foods LLC, a leading and SQF 3 certified food manufacturer committed to producing high-quality meat and poultry products while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. We are currently seeking an experienced Food Safety / Quality Control Manager to lead our Quality Control / Quality Assurance Department to new heights and oversee a dedicated project team focused on quality optimization initiatives.

**Position Overview**

As the Quality Control Manager at Ritter Foods LLC, you will be a key player in ensuring the quality and safety of our food products, aligning with USDA regulations, and maintaining SQF 3 certification. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Control Manager, demonstrating the ability to not only maintain but elevate our quality control department to the next level.

**Key Responsibilities:**

**Quality Control Leadership**

- Lead, mentor, and manage the Quality Control Team to achieve high levels of performance and adherence to quality standards.

- Develop and implement strategies to advance the Quality Control Department and elevate quality control practices.

**Regulatory Compliance**

- Stay abreast of USDA regulations and SQF standards to ensure the plant's compliance with all relevant food safety and quality control requirements.

- Implement and manage quality control procedures in alignment with regulatory guidelines.

-Manage product labeling and development from the USDA compliance respect.

-Interface with USDA Plant Inspector(s) as required.

**SQF Certification Oversight**

- Oversee the annual SQF audit, ensuring the plant's continued compliance and successful recertification.

- Collaborate with certification bodies and internal teams to address SQF-related matters.

**Halal Certification and Audit Oversight**

- Manage the Halal certification process and oversee the annual Halal audit.

- Ensure compliance with Halal requirements and collaborate with relevant stakeholders.

**Quality Assurance**

- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs to monitor and enhance the quality of finished products.

- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with established standards.

**Team Collaboration**

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality control measures into various stages of the production process.

- Foster effective communication and cooperation between Quality Control, Production, and other relevant departments.

**Project Team Oversight**

- Lead and oversee a dedicated project team focused on quality optimization initiatives.

- Implement strategies to optimize product quality, reduce defects, and contribute to the overall success and reputation of Ritter Foods LLC.

**Safety Committee Participation**

- Actively participate in the Safety Committee to contribute insights and initiatives for maintaining a safe working environment.

- Collaborate with safety professionals to address safety-related concerns and implement preventive measures.

**Qualifications**

- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Control Manager in a USDA regulated food manufacturing environment.

- In-depth knowledge of USDA regulations and SQF standards or equivalent certification.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Proven ability to develop and elevate a Quality Control Department.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to conduct thorough audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
