Full Job Description

firstPRO is seeking a highly technical Business Engineer - AI Delivery to serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams. This person will act as a force multiplier for Engineering, translating ambiguous business and technical requirements into clear, detailed specifications that developers can execute with minimal clarification.

The ideal candidate combines strong requirements and systems analysis skills with a solid understanding of APIs, data models, integrations, workflows, and software development practices.

Key Responsibilities

Translate complex or ambiguous business requirements into clear, executable technical specifications.
Develop structured context packages for Engineering that may include:
Business rules and process logic
API contracts and integration requirements
JSON schemas and data models
Workflow definitions and user journeys
Edge cases and exception handling
Sample API/data payloads
Acceptance criteria
Test scenarios and validation requirements
System dependencies and expected behavior
Partner closely with Engineering, Architecture, Product, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure requirements are technically sound and actionable.
Define acceptance criteria, validation rules, and test scenarios upfront, incorporating QA into the specification process rather than treating testing as a downstream activity.
Identify gaps, dependencies, risks, and edge cases before development begins.
Help engineers and AI-assisted development tools understand the required business context, system behavior, and expected outcomes.
Continuously improve requirements and documentation processes to increase development efficiency and reduce rework.

AI-Assisted Development

AI-assisted development is an important component of the team’s workflow. The team utilizes tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Gemini Notebook, and Replit.

Experience with a specific AI tool is not required. Candidates should understand how AI coding agents use structured requirements, technical context, schemas, examples, and acceptance criteria to support software development.

Required Qualifications

Experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Business Process Engineer, or similar technical role.
Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, data models, JSON, and system workflows.
Proven ability to translate ambiguous requirements into detailed, actionable technical specifications.
Experience working directly with software engineers and architects.
Strong understanding of acceptance criteria, test scenarios, validation, and QA processes.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, identify opportunities, and take initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in mortgage, banking, lending, or financial services.
Experience working with AI-assisted development or coding agents.
Familiarity with modern software development methodologies and engineering workflows.
Experience defining API contracts, schemas, sample payloads, and integration specifications.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidates will be technical systems professionals who can bridge business requirements and engineering execution. They should be comfortable asking the right questions, identifying gaps, thinking through edge cases, and producing specifications detailed enough for engineers to build from with minimal additional clarification.

This role is best suited for a self-starter and go-getter who actively looks for opportunities, takes ownership, and does not require constant direction.

Pay: $62.00 - $65.00 per hour
