Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for operating various saw machines to cut materials accurately and efficiently, ensuring high-quality outputs that meet precise specifications. Your expertise in machine operation, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will drive productivity and safety standards across the production floor. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced manufacturing environment where precision and safety are paramount.

Duties

Operate a variety of saw machines, including band saws, and CNC cutting equipment, to process materials according to detailed blueprints and specifications
Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure accurate cuts and material dimensions
Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to verify dimensions and maintain quality standards
Set up and adjust machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines
Troubleshoot industrial equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain continuous production flow
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to all safety standards in production and utilizing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Assist with materials handling, fabrication, tooling setup, assembly line tasks, and packaging as needed to support overall manufacturing operations

Requirements

Proven experience operating saw machinery in a manufacturing or factory setting with a strong understanding of machine operation principles
Familiarity with CNC programming, CAM programming, SolidWorks or CAD software for design interpretation and machine setup
Knowledge of Fanuc controls or programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation systems
Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret mechanical drawings with precision measurement tools like micrometers and calipers
Mechanical aptitude with experience in welding, fabrication, tooling setup, and troubleshooting industrial equipment
Certification or experience with forklift operation is preferred for materials handling tasks
Strong understanding of safety standards in production environments along with the ability to follow strict safety protocols
