Location: Upper School Campus (grades 7th-12th)
Position Type: Full-Time
Position Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM during the school year. Days worked align with the school calendar; school breaks and holidays are off, with some work conducted over the summer.

Experience: School operations, ministry, facilities, public safety, military, coaching, administration, security, or related experience is helpful, but not required.
Purpose
The Campus Operations & Safety Coordinator is a key member of the Caritas Christian Academy administrative team, responsible for helping to ensure that the school campus is safe, prepared, organized, and operates effectively each day. This is a hands-on administrative and ministry role that combines campus operations, safety and emergency preparedness, student and staff support, facilities coordination, and daily campus oversight.
The Coordinator takes ownership of the day-to-day systems that allow the school to function safely and smoothly, including campus opening and closing, safety and security procedures, emergency preparedness and drills, arrival and dismissal, campus supervision, student medical assistance, staff and volunteer safety training, and coordination of operational needs. The position is designed for an individual who desires to serve within Christian education, takes initiative, enjoys working with students and staff, and is interested in growing in responsibility and school administration. Prior professional security experience is helpful, but not required.

Primary Areas of Responsibility
1. Campus Operations & Administration
- Implement and take ownership of daily campus opening and closing procedures.
- Help ensure the campus is prepared, organized, and ready for students and staff each school day.
- Utilize established protocols and oversee campus visitor processes.
- Oversee student medical assistance and students arriving late/leaving early.
- Oversee the student driver application and parking permitting process.
- Provide a visible, helpful administrative presence during student drop-off, pickup, and campus events.
- Support campus activities, school functions, and special events as needed.
- Oversee the implementation and enforcement of school regulations and applicable laws at the US campus.
- Oversee safety and security training for Upper School staff and volunteers.
- Identify operational needs and proactively work with the Director of Administration and Upper School Dean to improve campus systems, procedures, and readiness.
- Perform other related duties as assigned in support of safe and effective school operations.
- Perform general administrative responsibilities in support of the Upper School campus.
2. Safety & Emergency Preparedness
- Communicate and help implement school safety and security policies and procedures for students, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
- Oversee the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the school's emergency response plan and related administrative responsibilities for the Upper School campus.
- Serve as a primary member of the Emergency Response Team.
- Conduct and coordinate emergency drills, including Fire, Secure Perimeter, Lockdown, and Evacuation drills.
- Update and refine the Emergency Operations Manual as needed in coordination with school leadership.
- Maintain working knowledge of effective school safety practices, emergency response protocols, and applicable state and federal requirements that impact school operations.
- Conduct regular perimeter checks, confirming appropriate entry and exit points are secured.
- Patrol school facilities and maintain a visible campus presence for the purpose of promoting safety, awareness, and security.
- Monitor persons on campus during drop-off, pickup, and school events and respond appropriately to concerns.
- Respond calmly and appropriately to safety, security, medical, behavioral, or operational incidents and assist administration with campus incident response.
- Liaise with local law enforcement, emergency services providers, and other safety partners as appropriate.
3. Student & School Community Support
- Develop positive, appropriate relationships with students and contribute to a safe, orderly, and Christ-centered school environment.
- Conduct recess and lunch duty as scheduled and support established student supervision procedures.
- Assist with student movement, arrival, dismissal, and other high-traffic periods requiring additional campus oversight.
- Manage the documentation for campus incidents and address student concerns when needed.
- Demonstrate excitement and joy in working with children and the school community.
- Remain flexible and responsive to the changing needs of a fast-paced school environment.
4. Facilities & Campus Stewardship
- Help set up and tear down classrooms, lunch areas, campus events, and school functions as needed.
- Coordinate with church staff regarding major facility repairs, projects, and shared-campus operational needs.
- Help ensure that campus spaces, safety equipment, and operational systems remain functional and ready for school use.
- Ensure the Upper School campus is kept tidy and orderly.
Growth & Administrative Development
This position is intended to grow with the individual and the needs of the school. As competence and experience develop, the Coordinator may assume increasing ownership of operational procedures, emergency planning, staff training, facilities coordination, vendor relationships, safety compliance, campus systems, and other areas of school administration.

Special Certifications / Requirements
- First Aid/CPR Certification (EMT or higher medical skills preferred).
- Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Successful background check.
Purpose: The Safety & Security Specialist oversees and maintains Caritas Academy’s safety and security policies and procedures at the Upper School Campus (grades 7-12). This role provides support to the educational process with specific responsibilities for the safety and welfare of students, staff, and community members on the school campus. The role includes managing daily campus operations, including opening/closing procedures, student drop-off and pick-up, training the staff, conducting emergency response drills, perimeter checks, supervising lunch/recess, and management of the school security system.
