Full Job Description

Position Summary:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour plus Placement Bonuses

The Job Developer will provide individualized job development and placement for persons with disabilities. With coach/guide the individual in initial job training; job orientation and support, job coaching; transportation and support to individuals with disabilities to maximize community integration and job retention in accordance with VALLEYLIFE Policy and Procedure.

Position Responsibilities

Works closely with client and referring agency personnel. Attends all relevant staffings and meetings.
Identifies and develops community job sites for assigned clients using the service plan goals outlined by the referring agency.
Initiates contact with potential employers and explains VALLEYLIFE services as they pertain to job placement.
Assists with training of clients for interview process, job seeking skills.
Assists in training clients in the use of appropriate transportation.
Works closely with client, employer, and job coach as needed for orientation to new job sites.
Participates in VALLEYLIFE fund-raising activities.
Provides employment counseling to clients as required.
Maintains and submits accurate records as required.
Performs additional duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Extensive knowledge of the local labor market and employers.
Extensive knowledge of vocational training programs as they pertain to individuals with disabilities.
A demonstrated ability to maintain successful working relationships with the individuals served, families, referring agency staff, employers, supervisor, co-workers and agency staff.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Ability to plan, organize, and carry out program objectives.

Requirements

A.A. or two years (60 hours) college level courses with emphasis in business, behavioral science, social work or related field. One additional year of work experience in the field of vocational services may substitute for the education requirement.
Must hold a valid Arizona driver’s license and be eligible to drive VALLEYLIFE vehicles
Two years experience working in the field of vocational training and placement.
Must have ability to utilize personal vehicle when required to perform position responsibilities.
