Full Job Description

The Arizona Institute for Autism is seeking a Licensed Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team and provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for children and young adults with suspected autism spectrum disorder and other developmental or behavioral concerns.

The Psychologist will conduct clinical interviews, administer and interpret standardized assessments, review developmental and medical history, determine appropriate diagnoses, and provide families with clear recommendations and referrals. The ideal candidate has experience evaluating children with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and related conditions.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive autism and developmental diagnostic evaluations for children and young adults
Complete clinical interviews with clients, parents, and caregivers
Review developmental, educational, behavioral, and medical histories
Select, administer, score, and interpret standardized psychological and developmental assessments
Assess for autism spectrum disorder and possible co-occurring developmental, behavioral, or mental health conditions
Prepare clear, accurate, and timely diagnostic reports
Communicate evaluation findings and recommendations to families
Develop individualized recommendations based on assessment results and client needs
Provide referrals for additional services, treatment, or medical evaluation when appropriate
Collaborate with BCBAs, clinical leadership, caregivers, schools, medical providers, and other professionals involved in the client’s care
Maintain complete and confidential documentation in accordance with professional, ethical, and organizational standards
Remain current on evidence-based autism assessment and diagnostic practices

Qualifications

Doctoral degree, PhD or PsyD, in clinical psychology, school psychology, counseling psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited program
Current Arizona psychologist license or ability to obtain Arizona licensure before beginning independent clinical services
Experience conducting psychological, developmental, or autism diagnostic evaluations
Strong knowledge of diagnostic criteria and standardized assessment procedures
Experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families
Excellent clinical interviewing, report-writing, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds
Ability to successfully complete all required background checks

Preferred Qualifications

Experience administering autism-specific assessments, such as the ADOS-2
Experience evaluating individuals with limited verbal communication or complex support needs
Familiarity with developmental, cognitive, adaptive behavior, and behavioral assessment tools
Experience working within a multidisciplinary autism or pediatric clinical setting

Full-time, part-time, and contract arrangements may be considered based on the candidate’s qualifications and availability.
