Full Job Description

Position Overview

The Collision Center Director oversees the complete operational, management, financial, and administrative performance of the automotive collision repair facility. This extremely hands-on, executive leadership role requires a high-energy strategist who can effectively lead a team of Collision Estimators, maximize production workflows and store performance, maintain strict quality control standards, sustain OEM Collision Certifications, and expand Direct Repair Programs (DRPs) with insurance carriers. The primary goal is to maximum shop profitability while ensuring total customer satisfaction and safe, certified vehicle repairs.

Core Responsibilities

Operational Excellence: Direct the daily production workflow of body, paint, and reconditioning lines to maximize stall utilization and lower cycle times.
Financial Management: Full responsibility for facility P&L, monitor gross profit margins, control shop overhead costs, and hire & train staff to maximize store performance.
DRP & Carrier Relations: Serve as the primary liaison for insurance adjusters, auditing compliance, and securing new OEM/Direct Repair Program accounts.
Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor Estimators, parts managers, and certified technicians.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Enforce OSHA, EPA, and local hazardous material guidelines to maintain a completely safe working environment.
OEM Certifications: Manage and obtain manufacturer-specific vehicle repair certifications to elevate facility capabilities and market standing.
Customer Experience Execution: Monitor Net Promoter Scores (NPS) and customer reviews to resolve any structural or service-related issues swiftly

Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Cycle Time: Average keys-to-keys repair times.
Touch Time: Hours clocked on a vehicle per day.
Gross Profit Margin: Target margins on parts, paint, and labor.
Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI): Post-repair satisfaction surveys.
Financial Shop Performance: Achieving financial targets and profitability.

Position Requirements

Experience: Minimum proven 7+ years of executive leadership experience managing high-volume collision centers or multi-site body shop configurations.
Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency with collision estimating software (e.g., CCC ONE).
Industry Certifications: I-CAR Platinum required, ASE Certified status is highly preferred.
Operational Knowledge: Clear understanding of lean manufacturing workflows, structural and frame repair processes, and advanced paint application principles.
Regulatory Compliance: Deep familiarity with EPA regulations, OSHA shop guidelines, and auto-insurance claims billing laws.
Licensing: Valid driver's license with a continuously clean driving record.
