Full Job Description

Position Title: Paraprofessional / Youth Behavioral Support Staff

Job Highlights

Pay: $21/hour (Contracted, 1099/Sub-contractor)
Schedule: Monday–Friday
No weekends, nights, or holidays
Experienced candidates only (behavioral support required)
Must have or be willing to obtain an IVP fingerprint clearance card (different from level 1 fingerprint clearance card)
No benefits until after 1,000 hours worked

Arizona Staffing Partners is seeking experienced behavioral support staff to work in elementary school classrooms for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year beginning in August. This is a contracted, 1099/sub-contractor position. Please note: for the first 1,000 hours worked, there are no benefits offered.

This role is best suited for individuals with a strong background in supporting youth who exhibit challenging behaviors and require consistent behavioral and emotional redirection.

As a Behavioral Support Staff, you will work with students in a special education Emotional Disabilities or Cross Categorical Behaviors Program. These students require patient, confident, and skilled staff who can implement behavioral strategies effectively. Candidates must be comfortable managing escalated behaviors, providing de-escalation, and—when necessary—using approved physical interventions/holds. Staff may also be assigned to supervise and organize youth in a separate support room setting where physical interactions may occur.

Job Duties

Implement and reinforce positive behavior interventions to help students succeed.
Provide consistent structure, clear expectations, and hands-on behavioral redirection.
Track and document student progress and interventions.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to maintain a safe, supportive learning environment.
Supervise students at all times, including during escalations or in separate support settings.
Utilize de-escalation strategies and, when required, physical interventions/holds.
Support students one-on-one or in small groups across academic, social, emotional, functional, and behavioral goals.
Demonstrate and model positive skills and behaviors for student learning.
Prepare classroom activities and maintain an organized space.

Candidate Requirements

Experience working with children/youth with behavioral challenges is required.
IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Current CPR & First Aid Certification or ability to obtain
Familiarity with crisis intervention, de-escalation strategies, and physical holds (CPI or similar preferred).
Ability to stay calm, professional, and consistent in high-stress situations.
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
Commitment to creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment for all students.
