Full Job Description

We are seeking one full-time Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our growing team at a fast-paced compounding pharmacy. This candidate will be assigned to the non-sterile compounding lab and will assist pharmacists in preparing customized compounded medications.

The ideal candidate is motivated, hardworking, dependable, and highly detail-oriented. A strong work ethic, accuracy, and the ability to follow instructions carefully are required. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment that will challenge you while providing excellent growth opportunities in the pharmacy industry.

This is a hands-on lab position that requires weighing, measuring, mixing, documenting, cleaning, and working with a variety of pharmaceutical ingredients. Prior non-sterile compounding experience is preferred.

You will be provided paid time off, in addition to 6 paid holidays. After a probationary period of 3 months, we may consider additional benefits.

Pay: $23.00 – $26.00 per hour, depending on experience. Raises are given as goals are met, training milestones are completed, and skill levels are achieved.

Position: Certified Pharmacy Technician – Non-Sterile Compounding Lab

Responsibilities include:

Compound non-sterile medications under pharmacist supervision
Work with a variety of chemicals and pharmaceutical ingredients to prepare prescriptions
Prepare medications by counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, and mixing pharmaceutical ingredients
Follow formulas, worksheets, standard operating procedures, and pharmacy policies carefully
Maintain accurate documentation throughout the compounding process
Use proper technique when preparing creams, capsules, troches, lozenges, solutions, suspensions, and other non-sterile preparations
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in the non-sterile compounding lab
Assist with inventory, supplies, and chemical check-in as needed
Communicate clearly with pharmacists and team members
Work as a teammate and collaborate with others in a fast-paced environment
Multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Remain accountable and willing to support the team when needed

Required qualifications:

Active Pharmacy Technician Certification
Prior pharmacy technician experience
Strong knowledge of pharmacy technician duties
Proficiency with medical terminology
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to follow written instructions, formulas, and SOPs
Comfort with pharmacy math, weighing, measuring, and documentation
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, accountable, and team-oriented

Preferred qualifications:

Prior non-sterile compounding experience
Experience with creams, capsules, troches, lozenges, suspensions, or solutions
Experience working in a compounding pharmacy
Familiarity with pharmacy equipment such as mixers, ointment mills, capsule machines, or lab scales

Things you should know:

This position may require working with hazardous drugs. As with similar positions in the pharmacy industry, applicants must be willing to acknowledge that they understand the potential risks of handling hazardous drugs and agree to follow all required safety procedures.

Personal protective equipment will be required when handling hazardous drugs or other materials that require additional protection.
