Full Job Description

Job Summary:
The Electrical Service Technician Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the daily scheduling, dispatch, and support of electrical service technicians across assigned locations. This role will help ensure customer service requests, preventative maintenance work, emergency calls, installations, inspections, and repair activities are assigned efficiently based on technician availability, skill set, priority, location, and safety requirements. The Electrical Service Technician Coordinator will work closely with field technicians, operations leadership, customer service teams, vendors, and customers to maintain timely communication, accurate work order status, effective resource utilization, and strong service performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate daily schedules and dispatch assignments for electrical service technicians based on work order priority, technician capability, geography, parts availability, and customer commitments.
Monitor service calls, emergency requests, preventative maintenance tasks, installations, inspections, and repair work to ensure timely completion and accurate follow-up.
Communicate with technicians, customers, branch teams, and operations leaders regarding appointment windows, status updates, delays, reschedules, escalations, and completion notes.
Review work orders for completeness, including scope of work, customer information, equipment details, safety notes, required permits, and special instructions.
Support technician productivity by balancing route efficiency, response time, customer needs, travel time, and workload capacity.
Track open work orders, backlogged service requests, return visits, parts holds, and high-priority jobs to ensure appropriate action and visibility.
Maintain accurate documentation in dispatch, service management, CRM, or work order systems.
Assist with coordinating materials, parts, permits, vendor support, and job readiness requirements before technicians are dispatched.
Identify scheduling conflicts, service risks, recurring issues, and process improvement opportunities; communicate recommendations to leadership.
Promote safe work practices by confirming technicians have appropriate job information, access requirements, and awareness of site-specific hazards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Prior experience coordinating electrical service technicians, field service teams, dispatch operations, or maintenance scheduling preferred.
Strong understanding of electrical service workflows, including troubleshooting, repairs, installations, inspections, preventative maintenance, and emergency response.
Ability to prioritize urgent service needs while maintaining efficient technician scheduling and high customer satisfaction.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear updates to technicians, customers, and internal stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple work orders, schedules, and deadlines at once.
Comfortable using dispatch software, work order systems, CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, reporting tools, and service dashboards.
Ability to interpret work order notes, basic technical service requirements, customer concerns, and technician feedback.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adjust schedules quickly when emergencies, delays, staffing changes, or parts issues occur.
Knowledge of safety procedures, electrical service compliance expectations, and job site access requirements.
Professional customer service mindset with the ability to balance operational efficiency, technician needs, and customer commitments.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, technical training, or trade-related coursework preferred.
3–5 years of experience in field service coordination, dispatch, electrical service operations, maintenance scheduling, construction service support, or related operations preferred.
Experience supporting electricians, electrical service technicians, maintenance technicians, HVAC technicians, utility service teams, or other skilled trade field teams preferred.
Experience with work order management, dispatching platforms, scheduling software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office preferred.
Electrical industry knowledge, familiarity with service calls and preventative maintenance, or prior experience in a safety-sensitive field service environment is a plus.
