Full Job Description

SAGE Dining Services® is seeking an accomplished, high-energy Area Manager to lead the operational performance and development of our District Managers across the Western and Southwestern regions. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a results-driven professional who thrives in a dynamic, multi-site environment and can translate strategy into exceptional execution.

The Area Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our locations consistently operate at the highest standards while delivering every element of SAGE’s programs with excellence. This leader will inspire District Managers, strengthen operational discipline, identify growth opportunities, and ensure our clients and customers receive an outstanding experience at every touch point.

The ideal candidate has a strong track record of cultivating powerful client partnerships, achieving measurable client success, and driving operational excellence across various locations. Success in this role requires the ability to oscillate between the big picture and the finer details, developing regional strategies while remaining deeply engaged with what is happening in the field.

This is a highly field-oriented position, and extensive travel throughout the Western and Southwestern regions is expected. The successful candidate should enjoy being on the road, visiting locations, engaging directly with teams and clients, and creating momentum across the region.

Ideally, candidates will live near an airport hub, such as Las Vegas, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, or Phoenix. The resulting assigned venues would depend on your location.

Salary Range: $170,000 -$195,000

What you'll do:

Provide leadership and guidance to the area composed of hourly and salaried employees.
Foster and maintain client relationships.
Ensure that customer expectations are exceeded not just at special events, but every day.
Travel to venues and check that company guidelines are followed.
Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and health standards across all locations.
Implement and monitor operational procedures to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, employee development, and a customer-centric approach.
Ensure that all accounts are operating within budget, flagging financial problems in advance and devising solutions acceptable to SAGE management and clients.
Aid your teams in hiring great teams, teaching and motivating, constructively reviewing, and making staffing changes as necessary to maintain excellence.
Apprise the Regional Manager of opportunities, challenges, and successes of venues under your purview.
Aid in the sales process with site visits, sales presentations, and any necessary follow-through.

What you'll need:

Career demonstrating growth of leadership skills, client skills, and knowledge of the food service business.
Strong understanding of food safety regulations, health standards, and compliance requirements.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to analyze financial data and manage budgets for P&L and fee accounts.
Flexibility to travel as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Hands on culinary experience a plus.
Proven experience as an area manager or in a multi-district manager leadership role within the food service industry, campus dining preferred.
