Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX regulations. This role requires strong data entry skills and proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by effectively managing accounts receivable processes.

Responsibilities

Process and record incoming payments accurately and timely.
Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue accounts.
Communicate with clients to negotiate payment terms and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare and send out invoices to customers as needed.
Maintain accurate records of all transactions in accordance with GAAP standards.
Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure compliance with SOX regulations.
Assist in month-end closing processes by reconciling accounts receivable balances.
Utilize accounting software to generate reports and analyze data as required.

Experience

Previous experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or similar role is preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP and SOX compliance.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software is highly desirable.
Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to negotiate effectively and maintain professional relationships with clients.
Experience in public accounting is a plus but not mandatory.
