Full Job Description

The Education Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for credentialing and onboarding all visiting residents and fellows. This position works independently under the supervision of the Manager of Graduate Medical Education to ensure all educational rotations are in compliance with Phoenix Children's Policy. The Education Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate records in MedHub and serves as a key contact for community educational partners.

Position Duties

Credentials all visiting residents, and fellows. Works with individual departments to obtain approval, collects all required documentation from participating programs.

Maintains MedHub records for all residents rotating at Phoenix Children's in compliance with all relevant agency requirements and policies including but not limited to ACGME, Joint Commission and HIPAA. Manages rotating resident profiles and rotation requests in MedHub, reviews and approves onboarding packets for completeness and accuracy. Prepares necessary data required to submit IT requests for rotations such as computer access, IT logins, ID badge cards, and collects/returns deposits. Schedules check in and out appointments with visiting residents and fellows according to rotation dates and deadlines.
Supports the Director of Medical Education and Manager of Graduate Medical Education with the preparation of the annual IRIS report and audit. Responsible for providing information for various monthly and annual reporting requirements using data derived from MedHub.

Works with the Manager of Graduate Medical Education to review Program Letter Agreements for visiting learners, residents, and fellows. Coordinates legal review requests with Phoenix Children's Legal Counsel and acts as a liaison with participating institutions.

GMEC: Submits bi-monthly report of visiting rotation requests for approval at the Graduate Medical Education Committee meeting.

Provides reports and data as needed to the Chief Medical Education Officer and Director of Medical Education.

Communicates regularly with program and departmental administrators at Phoenix Children's and rotator host sites to review and update onboarding processes and troubleshoot problems that may arise.

Works closely with IT department to ensure visiting residents/fellows have access to IT systems when they arrive for their rotation.

Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
