Our providers support residential treatment programs across Arizona by delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
We are currently seeking a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) licensed in Arizona to join our clinical team. This is a primarily remote telehealth position supporting patients in residential treatment centers and intensive outpatient programs.
Position Overview
As a dual-certified FNP/PMHNP with Bumblebee Health, you will provide integrated medical and psychiatric care to patients receiving treatment in residential behavioral health and substance use treatment facilities. Through telehealth, you will evaluate and manage both physical and behavioral health needs while collaborating closely with therapists, nursing staff, case managers, and facility leadership to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care throughout each individual's treatment journey.
This position is ideal for a provider who values a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and is passionate about improving outcomes for individuals recovering from substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluations for new residential admissions.
- Perform medical history and physical examinations and psychiatric assessments.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage common psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, and substance use disorders.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medical and psychiatric medications as clinically appropriate.
- Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and treatment response.
- Manage withdrawal protocols and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) when appropriate and within scope of practice.
- Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, case managers, and facility leadership to coordinate integrated patient care.
- Respond to clinical questions and provide medical and psychiatric guidance to treatment teams.
- Document patient encounters accurately and thoroughly within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotations as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner programs.
- Current, unrestricted Arizona Nurse Practitioner license.
- Dual certification as Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C or FNP-BC) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
- Current DEA registration with prescriptive authority.
- Minimum of two years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred.
- Experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, residential treatment, psychiatry, or primary care is highly preferred.
- Experience managing patients with co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable providing care via telemedicine and utilizing electronic medical records.
- Excellent communication, clinical decision-making, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
