Job Title: On-Call Substitute Special Education Teacher Assistant (1099 Contractor)
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-Time | On-Call | Contract | As-Needed
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Daytime Hours Only

Arizona Staffing Partners is seeking On-Call Substitute Special Education Teacher Assistants to provide classroom support at school sites throughout the Phoenix metro area for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year beginning in August.

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting students with special needs and who are looking for flexible, meaningful work during school hours. Assignments are offered on an as-needed basis by email, and contractors may accept or decline opportunities based on availability.

Position Summary

The On-Call Substitute Special Education Teacher Assistant provides support in classroom settings serving students who may need academic assistance, behavioral redirection, emotional support, and supervision throughout the school day. This role helps cover staff absences and supports classroom continuity when regular staff are unavailable.

Typical classroom settings may include 6–8 students, 1 teacher, and 2 assistants.

Responsibilities

Support students with academic, behavioral, emotional, and social needs
Assist with behavior redirection and positive behavior support strategies
Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff
Provide one-on-one and small-group support as needed
Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
Respond appropriately to behavioral incidents using approved de-escalation techniques
Follow classroom plans, directions, and school site expectations

Requirements to Apply

To be considered, applicants must have the following:

Valid and current Arizona IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
Valid and current CPR & First Aid Certification
Valid and current Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI) Certification
60 college credits, Paraprofessional Certification, or ability to obtain
Agency assistance and guidance available for qualified candidates
Immunization records
Availability to work Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM for accepted shifts
Reliable transportation to travel to school sites throughout the Phoenix metro area
Daily access to email and the ability to respond promptly to assignment offers
Must be at least 18 years old
High School Diploma or GED required
