Junior Graphic Designer – Madd Gear
Location: Chandler, AZ
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Experience Level: Entry Level / Junior
About Madd Gear:
Madd Gear is a global action sports brand known for designing scooters, skate gear, ride-on products, and youth lifestyle products for families around the world. From product packaging and ecommerce content to social media, photography, video, and retail displays, our creative team plays a major role in how customers experience the brand.
We are looking for a motivated Junior Graphic Designer who is eager to learn, technically minded, highly organized, and ready to jump into a fast-paced creative environment. This role is perfect for someone who wants to grow across multiple areas of design — including modern workflows that incorporate AI‑assisted ideation, layout exploration, and content creation.
Position Overview:
The Junior Graphic Designer will support the Head of Design and wider marketing team in creating visual assets across print, packaging, digital content, ecommerce, photography, and social media.
This is an entry-level role, but we are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and the willingness to roll up their sleeves and take on a wide variety of creative and production tasks. The right person will be curious, dependable, detail-oriented, and excited to learn new tools, systems, and technologies — including AI tools that help speed up concepting, generate variations, enhance imagery, and streamline production workflows.
You will also help keep projects organized by entering briefs, job requests, and task updates into Notion, our internal project management system. Training will be provided, but comfort with digital tools and organized workflows is important.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating brand‑aligned graphics for packaging, print collateral, digital ads, email campaigns, ecommerce listings, social media, and internal presentations — including using AI tools to explore concepts, refine ideas, and generate supporting assets.
- Support the Head of Design with creative concepts, layout development, artwork revisions, and production updates.
- Prepare production-ready files for print, packaging, retail displays, and manufacturing.
- Assist with product photography, lifestyle imagery, photo editing, retouching, and image asset preparation — including leveraging AI‑powered editing tools where appropriate.
- Help maintain brand consistency across all visual touchpoints, including packaging, web, ecommerce, social media, and retailer content.
- Create and resize assets for multiple channels, including Shopify, Amazon, Walmart, Target, email, paid ads, and social media.
- Upload, organize, and maintain project requests, design briefs, files, and task updates in Notion.
- Support the team with day-to-day design production tasks, file organization, asset exports, and general creative requests.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh ideas for campaigns, product launches, packaging, and brand content — including using AI tools to rapidly prototype ideas or generate inspiration boards.
- Learn and apply new tools, software, AI platforms, and workflow systems that help improve speed, quality, and creative output.
Qualifications:
- 0–2 years of graphic design experience. Internships, school projects, freelance work, and personal projects are welcome.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Basic understanding of layout, typography, composition, color theory, and brand consistency.
- Familiarity with print and digital production processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow design direction, brand guidelines, and technical specifications.
- Comfortable working on a range of tasks, from creative design concepts to file cleanup, image edits, resizing, and production support.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment.
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, ask questions, and improve quickly.
- Comfortable using technology, digital workflow tools, and AI‑assisted creative tools for design, conceptualization, editing, and production efficiency.
- Experience with Notion, project management tools, or task management systems is a plus.
- Photography, photo editing, video editing, or motion graphics experience is a bonus.
- Interest in action sports, youth culture, ecommerce, consumer products, or lifestyle branding is a plus, but not required.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Eager to learn and grow within a creative team.
- Positive, reliable, and willing to take on whatever needs to be done.
- Technically minded and comfortable learning new tools and systems.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow direction.
- Creative, curious, and willing to contribute ideas.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Excited by the opportunity to work across branding, packaging, ecommerce, social content, and product marketing.
- Open to using AI tools for brainstorming, design exploration, image enhancement, and workflow optimization — and excited about how AI can elevate modern design work.
This role is ideal for a junior designer who wants real‑world experience across many areas of brand and product design — not just one narrow lane — and who’s excited to grow in a studio that embraces AI‑forward creative workflows.
