Full Job Description

Position Overview

We areseeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong experience in both functional software testing and test automation.

This role will support a modern, web-based judicial case management system, combining hands-on functional testing with automation engineering. The ideal candidate will be comfortable analyzing business requirements, designing comprehensive test scenarios, executing manual and exploratory testing, and converting those scenarios into reliable automated tests.

The successful candidate will work within an established automation framework using Selenium WebDriver and/or Playwright, while supporting continuous testing, regression coverage, defect analysis, and automated reporting throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Perform advanced functional, black-box, integration, system, UI, ADA/WCAG, UAT, and exploratory testing.
Design detailed test cases based on complex business and functional requirements.
Create and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) and comprehensive regression suites.
Develop and maintain automated UI tests using Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, C# and/or Java.
Build and maintain Page Object Model (POM)-based automation frameworks.
Create and execute smoke, regression, integration, and cross-browser automated tests.
Perform SOAP/REST/JSON web service testing.
Write SQL queries for database validation and backend testing.
Analyze automated test results and distinguish application defects from automation/script issues.
Document defects with clear, technically accurate reproduction steps.
Use Azure DevOps, GitHub, Git, and Visual Studio 2022+ for test management and source control.
Translate complex business rules into structured, reusable test scenarios.
Leverage AI-assisted testing tools such as GitHub Copilot, Modern Requirements, and Copilot for DevOps to accelerate test design, documentation, and automation.
Collaborate closely with developers, QA professionals, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure complete test coverage.
Participate in Agile/Scrum development cycles and meet sprint deadlines.
Develop comprehensive test plans and define measurable quality and acceptance criteria.
Balance hands-on manual testing with automated testing throughout each development cycle.
Work independently with minimal supervision while proactively identifying quality risks and testing gaps.

Required Qualifications

5–10 years of experience in functional software testing/QA.
5+ years of experience in test automation.

Black Box Testing
Integration & System Testing
UAT
ADA/WCAG Testing
REST/SOAP/JSON Web Services
SQL / Database Testing
Experience developing or maintaining POM-based automation frameworks.
Programming experience with C# and/or Java.
Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Git, and Visual Studio 2022+.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple testing priorities.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

Five (5) years of combined professional experience in software functional analysis/testing and test automation engineering may be accepted in lieu of the degree.

The strongest candidates will be experienced QA Automation Engineers / Senior QA Analysts who can independently handle both sides of the role:

Manual QA + Automation Engineering

Candidates should be able to understand business requirements, design comprehensive test coverage, execute functional testing, identify defects, validate backend data, and develop automated Selenium/Playwright scripts within the same project lifecycle.
