Civil Construction Project Estimator
About us

ALR Construction founded in 1998 is a local Civil Construction Company in Phoenix, AZ. We are innovative, rewarding, supportive and our goal is to be the best at what we do.

ALR Construction is looking to fill a Project Estimator position. This position is specific for providing detail estimates for;

Civil construction such as Grading, Paving, and Wet Utilities. This candidate will estimate job sums from 500K-5M and must possess the experience to do so. This candidate will have the ability to meet time sensitive deadline, work well under pressure in a high pace environment and work as an effective team player. The qualified candidate will have great communication skills, be organized and detail oriented.

Specific skill requirements include the following:

Prepare earthwork takeoffs using TRIMBLE BUSINESS CENTER/Blue Beam take off.
Prepare estimates using HCSS software.
Analyze drawings and specifications.
Assemble accurate and well organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner.
Provide clear detailed quantity take offs.
Organize sub-contractors quotations, negotiate to ensure quotes meet contract documents and issue proper documented purchase orders.
Take notes from management team on alterations to the bid, revise, review, and continually improve accuracy of information as bid date approaches.
Maintain relationships with subcontractors and clients.
Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labor costing.
Formulate cost break down from estimates and for project progress.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualified candidate will have broad experience and a thorough understanding of heavy civil construction estimating.
Experience in the construction industry.
Experience in using HCSS bid Software.
Experience with estimating software and spreadsheet design.
Qualified candidate will be a self-starter, must be able to meet critical deadlines and have the ability to lead a team.
The ability to speak, read and write in fluent English
Possess basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Excel, Word, Project, Outlook.
Five years’ experience working in the Arizona/Phoenix area as an Earthwork and Paving or Wet Utility Estimator.
