Job Summary:
The Recruitment Trainer is responsible for the onboarding, training, coaching, mentoring, and ongoing professional development of recruiters across the organization. This role supports newly hired recruiters through a structured onboarding and ramp-up process while also serving as a continuous learning and performance resource for tenured recruiting staff throughout the year. The primary objective is to accelerate recruiter proficiency, productivity, consistency, and effectiveness by delivering training programs, facilitating hands-on coaching, and partnering closely with Talent Managers and Pod Leads to drive sustained performance improvement.
As the subject matter expert for recruiting processes, systems, best practices, and performance expectations, this role provides a combination of classroom training, live recruiting observation, side-by-side coaching, field support, and targeted development initiatives. Through regular one-on-one and small-group coaching sessions, real-time feedback during recruiting activities, and ongoing skill development, the Recruitment Trainer helps recruiters at all levels strengthen their capabilities and achieve performance goals. While this role may support aspects of the new hire onboarding process as needed, its primary responsibility is fostering continuous recruiter development, coaching excellence, and driving recruiting performance and efficiency across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own and execute the onboarding and training program for all newly hired recruiters.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve recruiter onboarding curriculum, materials, and learning resources.
- Facilitate instructor-led training sessions, workshops, and individual coaching sessions.
- Facilitate continuous recruiter development through live coaching, shadowing, and interactive training sessions beyond new-hire onboarding programs.
- Observe and coach recruiters in real time during candidate sourcing, screening, and profile evaluation activities, offering actionable feedback to strengthen recruiting skills, candidate engagement, and decision-making.
- Ensure all required onboarding, recruiting process, systems, and compliance training is completed.
- Finalize and coordinate training schedules and calendars for all new hire classes.
- Work closely with HR to coordinate all pre-employment onboarding activities, including technology setup, new hire welcome materials, and first-day readiness.
- Partner with Talent Managers and Pod Leads to ensure training aligns with business objectives and recruiter performance expectations.
- Conduct skills assessments and training evaluations to measure learning effectiveness and readiness.
- Provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to recruiters throughout onboarding and ramp-up.
- Work side-by-side with recruiters to reinforce recruiting best practices, productivity habits, candidate engagement techniques, and process execution.
- Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions focused on performance improvement and skill development.
- Monitor progress toward productivity and efficiency milestones and provide targeted development plans as needed.
- Maintain regular touchpoints with recruiters during their first six months to reinforce learning and drive consistent performance.
- Collaborate with Talent Managers and Pod Leads to identify performance gaps and create development strategies.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on recruiting workflows, systems, tools, and best practices.
- Maintain and enhance training content related to:
- Recruiting fundamentals
- Candidate sourcing and engagement
- ATS utilization
- CRM and portal utilization
- Job board best practices
- Recruiting metrics and performance expectations
- Candidate management and documentation standards
- Utilize and enhance training programs including Recruiter Foundations, Recruiting 201, Recruiting 301, and Recruiting Mastery.
- Design and deliver learning experiences through instructor-led, virtual, self-paced, and blended learning formats.
- Develop and maintain training documentation, guides, job aids, and learning resources.
- Continuously evaluate training effectiveness and implement process improvements.
- Confirm understanding and consistent execution of all recruiter training topics and sign off on successful completion.
- Reinforce recruiter productivity expectations, activity standards, and key performance metrics.
- Track onboarding progress and efficiency milestones for all new recruiters.
- Provide leadership with updates on training progress, skill development, and readiness.
- Identify trends impacting recruiter performance and proactively recommend training solutions.
- Drive consistency in recruiting processes, quality standards, and productivity across all locations and teams.
- Deliver refresher training and advanced development sessions for existing recruiters as needed.
- Develop monitoring systems to ensure recruiters are consistently applying training and best practices in their daily activities.
- Partner closely with Talent Managers, Pod Leads, and leadership to align training with operational needs.
- Participate in regular meetings with recruiting leadership to understand team priorities and development needs.
- Travel as needed to support recruiter onboarding, training events, and development initiatives.
- Assist with training-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with management of training resources and vendor relationships.
- Provide coverage and support for training efforts across recruiting teams when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required. Advanced education is preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years of successful full-cycle recruiting experience within the staffing industry or a similar environment.
3. Demonstrated experience training, coaching, mentoring, or developing recruiters and sales professionals.
4. Strong knowledge of recruitment strategies, tools, and technologies (e.g., ATS, LinkedIn Recruiter, etc.).
5. Strong computer skills required including MS Office Suite and CRM/Avionte
