Place of Employment: Client Homes, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Rehabilitation Facilities and other approved work sites as required by Swamp Rabbit Home Care.
Accountable to Swamp Rabbit Home Care Services and Office Staff: Administrator, Office Manager, and Administrative Support.
Job Summary:
The Caregiver is a front-line position acting as a representative of Swamp Rabbit Home Care, LLC and providing the services offered by the company. The Caregiver duties are not limited to those listed as the position has a wide scope of duties at times dependent on the client and always under the guidance of the company. The Caregiver will mostly work independently of co-workers or supervisors and therefore must balance good judgment and initiative along with the policies and procedures of the company. It should be noted with emphasis that the Caregiver is to involve the client in the care program to help provide the client with the basic standards of healthy living as follows:

This position may require various shifts at various times (including nights, weekends, and sleepovers) in one or more sites.
Duties:
The following list of duties is a guideline of possible duties to be performed independently or as a group of duties in the course of working with the client. The Caregiver duties are not limited to those listed.
A. Companionship
One of the most important aspects of Swamp Rabbit Home Care, LLC will be providing customers with a strong sense of self-esteem and independence. Taking a genuine interest in the client, their life and their environment will help create true sense of companionship. Whether it is playing a favorite board game, card game, reading, taking a walk or visiting with friends and neighbors, companionship provides the depth of our services.
B. Housekeeping and Laundry
The (Caregiver) will provide light housekeeping, cleaning bathrooms after each use, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, changing bed linen, washing and folding laundry, taking out trash, watering plants, prepping meals, general tidying up of the client's living space as requested or required.
C. Kitchen Work
Cleaning kitchen surfaces, preparing menus and meals, cooking, baking, serving, assisting with eating, wash, dry and put away dishes and general tidying up as required or requested.
D. Transportation and Escort
The (Caregiver) may drive their car and transport a client to an appointment and or errand if the caregiver has written authorization from the company to do so the caregiver may also escort the client to appointments and or errands, grocery store, pharmacy, etc.,providing support physically and mentally.
E. Activities of Daily Living
The (Caregiver) will help with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Assist with oral hygiene, which includes brushing teeth and denture care. Mobility assistance include walking, transferring from bed to chair etc. and positioning to ensure comfort and prevent injury. Medication reminders, reminding clients to take prescribed medications at the correct times as instructed by a healthcare provider. Observe and report changes in clients, physical or mental condition to authorize representative, supervisor, or healthcare providers.
Qualifications
1 .Current certificate in basic First Aid, and CPR (not required, greatly appreciated)
2. Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
3. Ability to work independently.
4. Excellent communication and listening skills.
5. Compassionate, patient, and caring nature.
6. Able to work in a stressful environment.
7. Must be physically and mentally fit to handle the demands of caregiving.
General Notes:
The (Caregiver) will be required to maintain a safe working environment for themselves and their clients. There may be emergency situations where the Caregiver will have to react quickly with sound judgment. The scope of duties described in this document may not include all duties to be performed by the Caregiver and is subject to change.
