A&P Mechanic / IA Preferred — Monday–Friday Day Shift | GA & Turbine
Mustang Aviation – Pierre, South Dakota
Mustang Aviation is seeking an FAA-certificated Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Pierre, South Dakota. A current Inspection Authorization is strongly preferred, although we will consider the right A&P candidate with solid general aviation experience and the ability to grow into greater responsibility.
This is a full-time, hands-on maintenance position supporting a varied mix of general aviation and turbine aircraft, including King Air aircraft and our Part 135 fleet. We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and takes pride in doing the job correctly.
Schedule
This is primarily a Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. position with no rotating shifts. Occasional after-hours assistance may be needed based on operational requirements, but this is not an airline-style night, weekend, or rotating-shift position.

Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on general aviation and turbine aircraft
- Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and service airframes, engines, systems, and components
- Perform aircraft inspections in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals, FAA regulations, and company procedures
- Support maintenance on King Air, piston, turbine, and Part 135 aircraft
- Complete accurate logbook entries, work orders, inspection records, and maintenance documentation
- Research and comply with applicable Airworthiness Directives, service bulletins, maintenance manuals, and technical data
- Coordinate with the Director of Maintenance and other team members to keep aircraft moving efficiently
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional shop environment
- Communicate clearly with management, coworkers, pilots, and customers when needed
Qualifications
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate required
- Current Inspection Authorization preferred
- General aviation maintenance experience preferred
- King Air, turbine, or Part 135 maintenance experience is beneficial but not required
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, parts manuals, and technical publications
- Ability to complete accurate maintenance records and logbook entries
- Valid driver’s license required

Compensation
$29–$38 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
A current IA, along with relevant turbine, King Air, or Part 135 experience, will receive strong consideration when determining compensation.
Pay: $29.00 - $38.00 per hour
