Job Title: Quality Control Manager
Job Description
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety on construction projects. This role involves regular communication with the project manager to provide updates, address issues, and ensure compliance with contract requirements. The manager will oversee subcontractor submissions, coordinate material orders, and conduct safety meetings, while monitoring daily quality and safety practices to minimize corrections and punch-list items.
Responsibilities

Communicate regularly with the project manager to provide quality control updates.

Coordinate and review outside testing agencies for proper techniques and contract compliance.

Oversee subcontractor submittals and maintain the submittal register.

Order and receive necessary materials and equipment.

Administer weekly safety meetings and identify relevant safety elements.

Monitor quality and safety practices daily and conduct ongoing inspections.

Implement authority to stop work if unsafe practices are observed.

Provide direction to the project engineer and prioritize critical path items.

Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance in terms of timeliness, efficiency, and quality.

Review deliveries for timeliness and accuracy.

Complete daily reports on inventory, work progress, weather, quality, safety issues, and site visitors.

Provide weekly updates on 'as-built' conditions and maintain safety logs.

Create and coordinate completion of punch-list items prior to 'Substantial Completion' certification.

Represent the company during testing of alarm systems, mechanical systems, and equipment.

Coordinate with project management to ensure all close-out documents are complete and submitted.
Essential Skills
-
10+ years of proven experience in Quality Control Management.

Current USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification.

Demonstrated job knowledge, decision making, and accurate judgment.

Ability to identify problems, analyze information, and make recommendations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management software.

Working knowledge of computers and ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions.

Valid driver's license and ability to operate a personal vehicle.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or similar field preferable.

Experience with Federal construction projects required.

Flexible, well-organized, and detail-oriented with efficient time management skills.

Competency to take independent actions and calculated risks.

Ability to work well in group problem-solving situations.
Work Environment
This position is based on-site at Pine Bluff Arsenal, with work hours ranging from 40-55 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for Saturday work. The role requires working outdoors in extreme conditions such as cold, heat, and humidity on a regular basis, as well as physical activities such as standing, climbing, bending, and stooping daily.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
