The Radiological Technologist performs duties that involve the taking of radiographic images and examinations of various parts of the human body. The individual in this position must demonstrate skill and proficiency in a variety of radiological procedures, in the operation care and maintenance of radiographic equipment, and in the ability to effectively communicate with patients.

Prepares and administers contrast media used to increase exposure density.

Politely and professional prepares patients for X-Ray examination.

Prepares and maintains required clerical records and reports.

Demonstrates competency in all “darkroom” procedures.

Prepares and maintains confidential files and records required for the proper identification of patients and films.

Participates in departmental and organization-wide Performance Improvement activities.

Participates in all staff educational and in-service training programs.

Assists in the orientation, training and instruction of new employees.

Follows, at all times, established organizational safety/security-related policies and procedures, federal OSHA guidelines and JCAHO standards, be in compliance with ARRT, and state guidelines, as well as continuing education regulations

- This position requires: High school graduation, or the equivalent (GED); completion of an accredited course of study in Radiological Technology; valid registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists; and General Certification from the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Radiation Operator. Also, additional training with Mammography and/or ultrasound is required and two years of radiological experience referred.
The Radiological Technologist must demonstrate initiative and possess good judgment and knowledge of human anatomy and postures must be displayed.
Physical requirements
The primary portion of work is in a well-lit, ventilated, and air-conditioned facility. It may require prolonged, extensive sitting/standing. Position may require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, and/or use of tactile information. The individual must be able to express ideas or exchange thoughts by means of talking, hearing, reading, and/or writing. The individual should have motor coordination, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, eye-hand-foot coordination. This position may include transporting objects, and lifting up to
50 pounds.
