This position functions as a Switchboard Operator within the District Business Office. Incumbent must be self-motivated and able to perform duties independently with little to no supervision on a regular basis. The incumbent will participate in DOTD structured training programs as appropriate and attend
all continuing education classes and conferences deemed necessary to facilitate the performance of required tasks.
While in official capacity, DOTD employees must comply with applicable Louisiana and Civil Service laws, rules and regulations, as well as DOTD policies, procedures, manuals, and directives.

Two years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties:

Responsible for operation of the Switchboard by phone and two-way radio.

Greeting all customers, that include both internal and external.

Ensure that calls are forwarded to the proper person or department in a courteous and timely manner.

Communicate with management personnel and vendors, exchanging information and resolving problems.

Scan all pay documents into Content Manager, using a multi feeder Fujitsu Scanner.

Responsible for assisting the traveling public

Responsible for the entry, of all calls received from customers, into the Customer Service Database.

Open and stamp all incoming mail for the Business Office and sort and distribute all other incoming mail.
- May be required to perform other duties as necessary, including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational/Promotional
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday from 7:45AM to 4:15PM.
