POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Machine Operator reports to the Production Supervisor and is based out of our Hendersonville, North Carolina location. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the downstream machines run smoothly, function within specification, and produce the products that have been scheduled for the shift while ensuring a quality product is produced and all safety requirements are followed.
The primary function of this position is to operate downstream equipment, such as the OCME packer, labeler, and palletizer.
The operator must always wear and/or use all prescribed safety equipment, procedures, and processes.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job)

Operator the labeler on the Aseptic line
o Verify the type of glue/flow levels/temperature/cleaning schedule/replenish inventory
o Load labels / verify label application / enter data in Sherlock / collect samples from the
line / follow changeover procedures / responsible for the printing machine – proper ink
/ verify application/speed / shut down and CIP procedures.
Operator the labeler on the Aseptic line
o Verification of the following: the correct program is selected / correct film / correct
recipe/printer on / glue on and at correct temperature/oven on / correct trays being
used / cleaning completed.
Operator the palletizer on the Aseptic line
o Verification of the following: packaging size, correct film, case stickers on each case,
correct palletizing pattern, the correct pallet used, correct # of cases/skid wrapping, and
the skid is labeled with the license plate.
Ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, product quality, food, and employee safety.
Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine, controls.
Equipment set up for daily production. Mechanical setup / correct recipes.
Assist in the mold changeover during size changes for the SBO
Hear alarms and respond quickly to adjust equipment to prevent unnecessary downtime.
Prevents machine downtime / Monitors machines’ operations.
Troubleshoots machinery when product quality deficiencies appear or when machinery
otherwise malfunctions.
Follow start-up and shut-down procedures on the checklist of all equipment related to Sidel equipment.
Discuss problems with the supervisor, maintenance, quality control personnel, and other
operators.
Maintains processes by recording all data such as cycles, frequency, downtime, and faults, using the computer system Sherlock.
Inspect the finished product.
Follow GMP’s protocol in and outside of the Aseptic line
Follows all safety rules and requirements.
Performs general housekeeping duties such as sweeping, picking up debris, etc. to keep the area clean.
Clean & sanitize the floor at least once during the shifts.
Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Competent to complete D4A correctly and at the appropriate times.
Verify raw materials being used PRIOR and DURING production throughout
the line.

Complete Case Packaging D4A forms.
Verify the correct glue is being used during production.
Troubleshoot problems alongside the Lead that may arise in a prompt manner
and inform Supervisor as needed.
Update Lead/Supervisor frequently throughout the shift.
Complete Daily, Weekly, and Monthly cleanliness according to CIL Board and
5s in association to All Packaging Equipment areas (including Palletizer).
Complete change of flavors or raw materials in accordance with SOP in a
timely manner.
Complete any Preventative Maintenance (PMs) that may need to be completed.
Communicate with Lead to achieve sufficient results throughout the shift with
any needs that may arise.
Line Clearance of Previous Production to ensure no merging of Products.
Stage Packaging Equipment Raw Materials in 5s location for Current and
Scheduled Production.
Verify performance along with Lead/Supervisor on D4A checks throughout
Shift. DOUBLE VERIFICATION
Prepare and Perform Shift Handoffs with previous and upcoming shift.
Complete additional tasks that may be required by plant needs.
Work closely with Palletizer Operator to ensure correct pallet type, correct tag,
and correct staging materials.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
High School or equivalent
5 years of manufacturing experience, as a machine operator
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the food/beverage industry
Must have excellent time management skills
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, in English.
Mechanically inclined
Comfortable with technology and computers
Must be detail-oriented and can multi-task.
Proven organizational skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical manufacturing setting.
FREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in the area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).
OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dustmask, and perform Confined Entry using the LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
VISION: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.
HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines and exhaust fans.
