Position Description

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the X-Ray Supervisor, the Radiologic Technologist I has responsibility for taking and processing plain diagnostic X-rays, ensuring the quality, safety, and organization of the X-ray operations, including compliance with standards and regulations, and interfacing with patients, clinicians, and vendors, as well as performing medical office assistant, lab, and other support duties when not occupied in the X-ray department.

Department Summary

The purpose of Campus Health & Wellbeing is to help students achieve and maintain academic success and lifelong health and wellbeing by providing timely and appropriate primary and acute health care, disease and injury prevention education, professional mental health, outreach, educational services and campus consultations.

Key Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of modern X-ray and computed radiography (CR) equipment and techniques; regional and gross anatomy and physiology of the human body; and standardized radiological clinical procedures.
Knowledge of the principles of radiation protection, the hazards of radiologic materials, and required safety precautions; industry standards and ethics pertaining to radiologic technology; and federal and state laws and regulations governing radiology.
Ability to perform general diagnostic radiographic procedures and effectively assess the quality of images taken; operate applicable diagnostic equipment, including X-ray and digital imaging equipment; produce quality radiographs and images using applicable systems to manipulate and enhance images; and perform simple maintenance on applicable equipment.
Ability to effectively use computerized systems associated with producing and manipulating digital images, and to maintain records using applicable computerized systems.
Ability to recognize patient emergencies and alert practitioners.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of an accredited program in radiologic technology.

Licenses, Certificates, Credentials:

Possess and maintain a Certificate of Radiologic Technology as a certified radiologic technologist issued by the Radiologic Health Branch of the California Department of Public Health;
Basic life support (or higher) cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator (CPR/AED) certification for Healthcare Providers (by date of hire).

Salary and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range: $62,808 - $73,596 Per Year

Classification Range: $54,684 - $78,096 per year

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Anticipated Hiring Range referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Classification Range may be broader than what the University anticipates paying for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
