Full-Time | Travel Between Two Café Locations
Pay: $18.00–$22.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
We're Looking for a Coffee Professional Who Can Hit the Ground Running.
People's Coffee is searching for an exceptional, highly experienced Coffee Shop Manager to oversee operations at our Durham and Pittsboro cafés.
This is not an entry-level management position, and this is not a role where extensive training will be provided. We are looking for someone who already knows how to successfully operate a busy specialty coffee shop and is confident leading every aspect of the business from day one.

What You'll Be Responsible For
As our Multi-Unit Coffee Shop Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of both cafés while maintaining consistent quality, hospitality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading daily operations at both café locations.
- Preparing exceptional espresso beverages, handcrafted coffee drinks, teas, and seasonal specialty beverages.
- Setting the standard for beverage quality, speed, cleanliness, and customer service.
- Hiring, onboarding, scheduling, coaching, and managing café staff.
- Training new employees and maintaining high performance standards across both locations.
- Managing inventory, ordering products, controlling food and beverage costs, and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Monitoring labor, sales, and operating expenses while helping improve profitability.
- Creating seasonal beverage specials and helping develop new menu offerings.
- Executing local marketing initiatives and community outreach to help grow the business.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Handling guest concerns professionally and creating memorable customer experiences.
- Working closely with ownership to improve operations and support continued growth.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who already possesses the skills to successfully lead a specialty coffee business.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of specialty coffee shop experience is required.
- Previous experience managing a coffee shop or café with responsibility for daily operations.
- Proven experience hiring, scheduling, training, and leading employees.
- Experience managing inventory, placing orders, controlling costs, and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Advanced espresso and coffee preparation skills, including grinder calibration, espresso extraction, milk texturing, latte art, and beverage consistency.
- Ability to create specialty beverages and seasonal drink menus.
- Strong understanding of café operations, customer service, and business performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to regularly travel between the Durham and Pittsboro locations.
- Availability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Compensation
